Bangalore: Veteran Congress leader and former CM Siddaramaiah will once again take charge of Karnataka. At the same time, DK Shivakumar will be in the role of Deputy Chief Minister. Oath taking program has been kept in Bengaluru on 20th May. The Congress, which has been in continuous meetings since the results were announced on May 13, was able to take this decision on Wednesday (May 18). Let us tell you that Congress has won 135 seats in these elections.

By the way, the signs of Shivkumar lagging behind in the race for the post of Chief Minister were visible from Wednesday morning itself. While demonstrations in his support had begun in Shivakumar's constituency, there was celebration in the Siddaramaiah camp. According to media reports, a meeting of the Karnataka Congress Legislature Party has been called on Thursday (May 18, 2023). Which will happen today at 7 pm in Bengaluru. Siddaramaiah will be elected as the leader of the Legislature Party in this meeting. It is being told that the outline of the cabinet has also been prepared. On this both Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar agree.

It is being claimed in media reports that Congress supremo Mallikarjun Kharge kept trying till late Wednesday night to reach a consensus on the chair in Karnataka. Prior to this, meetings were going on in the Congress for the whole day on Wednesday regarding the post of Chief Minister of Karnataka. Earlier there was a discussion on making Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar the CM for two and a half years each. DK Shivakumar wanted the first term to be given to him. But, in the meeting, Shivkumar had said, 'I get the first term or else I get nothing. In any case, I will remain silent.' In the meeting held during the day, DK Shivakumar had rejected the offer of the post of Deputy Chief Minister.

But, it is now being told that DK Shivakumar has been persuaded in a meeting with the Congress high command which lasted till late night. According to reports, preparations are underway at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru for the swearing-in ceremony. Siddaramaiah will become the Chief Minister of Karnataka for the second time. Prior to this, he had been the CM of the state from 2013 to 2018. It is also being said by the sources that Shivakumar can get the command of the state after two and a half years.
