BHOPAL: Bharatiya Janata Party's  Madhya Pradesh unit toay, April 27, re-inducted the expelled party leader Siddharth Malaiya into party fold in view of the upcoming Assembly election in the state.

The ruling BJP is doing all in its power to reintegrate the "rebels" into the party in anticipation of "potential rebellion" and to prevent upheavals similar to those that recently occurred in Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka, when several party bigwigs switched to other parties.

Siddharth Malaiya, the son of former minister Jayant Malaiya, was kicked out of the BJP in 2022 for what were allegedly anti-party activities.

Siddharth Malaiya was openly challenging the state BJP leadership at the time, and there was widespread speculation that he may leave the BJP and join the Congress to "secure" his political future. Shivraj Singh Chouhan and state BJP president V. D. Sharma were there when Siddharth Malaiya and state Home Minister Narottam Mishra arrived at the BJP headquarters and joined the party.

It happened a month after Preetam Lodhi, who was also kicked out for allegedly engaging in anti-party activity, joined the BJP. Former Chief Minister Uma Bharti, a close friend of Gwalior-based OBC leader Lodhi, too expressed disappointment over Lodhi's dismissal from the party.

After joining the BJP, Siddharth Malaiya expressed his gratitude to the state BJP leadership by saying, "I am happy that the party gave me another chance to work."

Political analysts claimed that there may have been "fear" of "poaching" by the Congress when Siddharth Malaiya was re-inducted into the party. The three-time BJP MLA Deshraj Singh Yadav's son Yadvendra Singh Yadav shocked the party last month when he defected and joined the Congress.

Another setback for the saffron party came when former Khargone MP Makhan Singh Solanki recently switched to the BJP working on Roadmap of development of India in next 25-yrs: PM
