Rhea Chakraborty's mother Sandhya Chakraborty says that it was only after the arrest of her son and daughter that she started thinking about suicide. Sandhya while talking to a media said, "Once upon a time there was a feeling in my mind that the only way to stop all these things is to end one's own life." Rhea has been released on bail on October 7 after spending nearly 28 days in jail. But her brother Shovik is still in jail for not getting bail.
According to Sandhya, since the arrest of her children, she has spent many nights without sleeping. Talking to the media, she said, "When my kids are enduring so much in jail, I can't sleep in bed. I can't eat anything. I would wake up in the middle of the night and was filled with fear wondering what next and gonna be bad. "
Rhea Chakraborty was detained by the NCB (NCB) on 8 September and her brother Shovik on 4 September. Rhea said in the NCB inquiry that she was buying drugs for Sushant. Shovik admitted that he used to buy drugs at Rhea's behest. The NCB had demanded a 20-year sentence for both.
On 7 October the Bombay High Court stated in its judgment, "We agree with the defense's argument. The interpretation of section 27A is not justified by the NCB. Its interpretation shouldn't be, as NCB has done. We don't agree with NCB's argument that giving money to others for drug use promotes that person's drug addiction. There is no 'financing' thing here. "
The NCB had also accused Rhea that she used her money to arrange drugs. She also took help of her brother Shovik and Sushant's staff in this work. According to the court, this also does not come under the purview of section 27A. However, the court has admitted that Shovik was involved in the transaction.
