Punjab Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has claimed that there is a suspect at his Patiala residence, terming it a lapse in security. He said that a suspicious person was also seen on the terrace of his Patiala residence on Sunday evening. Sidhu has said that the person was covered with a blanket, but when the helper of the house raised an alarm, the suspect was immediately taken away from there.

Regarding the lapse in his security, Sidhu has said that he informed the matter to the Punjab Police chief. Sidhu tweeted, "Today at around 7:00 pm, an unidentified suspicious person wearing a grey coloured blanket was found on the terrace of my residence. As soon as my domestic help raised an alarm and called for help, he immediately ran away."

Navjot Singh Sidhu has said, "I have spoken to the DGP (Director General of Police) of Punjab Police, and the Senior Superintendent of Police of Patiala has also been informed about this. This security lapse prevents me from raising my voice for Punjab." Can't stop."
