Sikkim government issued new SOP, there will be no checking at the check post

Gangtok: The state government on Saturday issued a new advisory, said the notification, that there will be no checking at the check posts and they will be allowed free movement in the state. All tourists will be verified at the hotel and will be monitored by the tourism department. Entry will be allowed to all those persons who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines or reported RT-PCR negative within 72 hours.

The government notification to be implemented on World Tourism Day on 27 September mentions, these requirements (first dose of COVID 19 vaccines received or RT-PCR negative report within 72 hours) will be verified by the respective hotels where They are living. This process will be monitored by the tourism department. Further mentioned that there will be no restriction on persons exiting the state through check post. The new guidelines are in force till October 4.

However, the government has imposed a complete ban on the movement of vehicles and persons between 10:30 pm and 5.00 am, except for emergency purposes. Movement of commercial goods vehicles and loading and unloading of goods have been permitted during the curfew period. Meanwhile, pubs, discotheques, cinema halls and other similar entertainment venues will remain closed. Casinos attached to hotels will be allowed to operate for in-house guests only.
