New Delhi: Singapore Airlines will not side with the Tata group in an attempt to buy Air India. The Tata group attempted to bring Singapore Airlines with them to bid for Air India. It was intended to bid for Air India through the joint venture of Vistara. Now according to reports, Singapore Airlines does not look ready for this.

Singapore Airlines had exempted the Tata group from the 'non-compete' clause for this deal. The Tata group wanted him to join in the deal to buy Air India. The Tata group wanted to acquire the deal through its joint venture Vistara with Singapore Airlines. According to media reports, Singapore Airlines may not want to enter into this deal because Air India needs long-term funds. Air India's financial position is extremely poor. That is why Singapore Airlines is reluctant to join the Tata group in this deal.

If Singapore Airlines does not come with the Tata group to buy Air India, it may have to bid from its Air Asia unit. Tata group has started increasing its stake in this unit. This is reducing the share of Air Asia BHD in it. Through this, there may be some legal hurdles in bidding for Air India, but the Tata group can try to resolve it.
