Islamabad: A video featuring Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has surfaced on social media, capturing the artist in an altercation with a man while using slippers to express his displeasure. In the footage, Khan, donned in a dark kurta, is seen repeatedly striking the man, questioning him about a misplaced bottle.

In a subsequent video, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan offered clarification regarding the incident. He explained that his actions were in response to a mistake made by one of his students, whom he subsequently forgave after an apology.

The man who faced the repercussions clarified that he had lost a bottle containing 'dam kiya huwa pani' (holy water). He asserted that those circulating the video aimed to tarnish the reputation of his 'ustad' (teacher).

He expressed no grievances, emphasizing the strong bond between them, referring to Khan as his father, murshid (spiritual guide), and guru. The man dismissed the video's controversy as an attempt to manipulate and blackmail his revered teacher.

Standing alongside Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, the man's father supported the idea that there was nothing amiss in a master disciplining his disciple. He echoed the sentiment that the incident was being unnecessarily sensationalized, affirming the normalcy of a mentor correcting his student.
