Single fathers will also get child care leave from April to take care of their little ones. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal told the Rajya Sabha on Friday that the government has taken this decision to promote gender equality and justice.

Regarding the matter, Goyal said that under the policy of the government, a single father can get two years' leave to take care of the child in the railways. Railway personnel will be able to take advantage of this facility from April.

For your information, let us tell you that currently the railway gives its female employees two years of child care leave at the time of child birth or for taking care of their minor children up to 18 years of age. In this, the worker gets full salary for one year and 80 percent salary is given for the next one year. Railways decided to give child care leave to single father on 11 December 2018, which is being implemented from April.
