Next month, Skoda will unveil the new 2022 Slavia mid-size luxury car for Indian markets. The new Slavia sedan will be unveiled on November 18th, according to the Czech automaker. The Skoda Slavia has almost been revealed, with the automaker providing a sneak glance at the new sedan covered in camouflage just a few days ago.

The Slavia will be available with two TSI engines and a slew of safety features, including six airbags and more. Skoda Slavia measures 4,541 mm in length, 1,752 mm in width, and 1,487 mm in height. The sedan will have a wheelbase of 2,651 millimetres. It is built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, which is shared by all new Skoda and Volkswagen vehicles, including the Kushaq and Taigun SUVs.

The Slavia is essentially a follow-up to the Rapid, the company's successful sedan. It will be Skoda's third model to hit the Indian market this year.

The Czech automaker hasn't disclosed many specifics about the new Slavia, but it has announced that it will be powered by two TSI petrol engines, which are also used in the Skoda Kushaq SUV, which was recently unveiled. The 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI engine has a power output of 113 horsepower. The 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI produces 148 horsepower. Skoda's six-speed manual gearbox is standard, with the option of a six-speed automatic transmission in the 1.0-litre TSI or a seven-speed DSG gearbox in the 1.5-litre model.

The 1.5-litre engine model of the Skoda Slavia will also use active cylinder technology (ACT). It seeks to improve the sedan's fuel efficiency by turning off two cylinders while the engine is not in use. When it debuts in 2021, the Skoda Slavia will compete in the premium mid-size sedan segment against the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City, and Hyundai Verna.
