New Delhi: Union Minister Smriti Irani has questioned the Kejriwal government of Delhi that 'your jail department was sleeping when the reconsideration petition in Nirbhaya case was rejected in July 2018?' Irani said why did the Kejriwal government release the minor convict in the case by giving him 10,000 rupees and sewing machine? Did you not see the tears of Nirbhaya's mother then?

It is worth mentioning that this statement of Irani has come at a time when Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has given a big statement regarding this matter. Aam Aadmi Party national president and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said today that whatever work was done under the Delhi government in the Nirbhaya case was dealt with in a few hours. We never made any delay in settling any work related to this matter. Kejriwal said that the role of the Delhi government in this matter is very small. We want the culprits to be hanged at the earliest.

At the same time, Nirbhaya's mother Asha Devi appealed to PM Modi and said, 'I request you to fold hands and get the culprits of my daughter hanged as soon as possible. You said in 2014 that there was a lot of attack on women ... so you fulfill your promise. Let us tell you that on Thursday, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar had blamed the Delhi government for the delay in hanging Nirbhaya's culprits.
