NEW DELHI: Smriti Irani, Union Minister for Women and Child Development, announced on Sunday that she had tested positive for Covid.
She made the announcement in a tweet where she apologised to residents of Delhi's Rajendra Nagar for not attending a BJP-organized event ahead of the June 23 Assembly bypoll there.
"I apologise profusely to Rajendra Nagar's people for not being able to participate in the programme organised there because my Covid test came back positive," she said in the Hindi tweet, urging people to vote for the BJP candidate.
The Minister has tested positive for Covid for the second time. She was infected previously in 2020.
