Kolkata: Taking immediate action on the basis of strong input, Border Security Force (BSF) jawans of 68th Corps, Border Outpost Madhupur under North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, have arrested a smuggler along with 25 gold biscuits. According to the report, the total weight of the seized gold biscuits is 2914 grams and its estimated value is Rs 1 crore 80 lakh.

North 24 Parganas district is a district adjacent to Kolkata and also meets the border of Bangladesh. During interrogation, the smuggler Amir Mandal confessed that the gold biscuits were given to him by Ashadul Mandal of Chandpur village of North 24 Parganas district. He was about to give these gold biscuits to Paresh, a resident of village Gadapota in district North 24 Parganas. He was given Rs 3,000 for this work.
