New Delhi: Special Commissioner of Delhi (Law and Order) SN Srivastava has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Police of Delhi. The Ministry of Home Affairs has approved the appointment of SN Srivastava as Commissioner of Police. After this, the order has been issued by Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal. SN Srivastava will take over from March 1. The current Police Commissioner of Delhi Amulya Patnaik is retiring on 29 February.

SN Srivastava, an IPS officer of AGMUT 1985 batch, was still posted in CRPF (Training) Jammu and Kashmir. In the midst of Delhi violence, he was summoned from CRPF and appointed Special Commissioner (Law and Order) of Delhi. SN Srivastava is counted among the fiercest officers of Delhi. Even before this, he has been in the special cell of Delhi Police. During his stay in the special cell, he exposed the fixing in an IPL match in Delhi. He was handling the responsibility of Special Police Commissioner in Special Cell of Delhi Police.
