USA: On January 25, Snap Camera, the company's desktop application that allowed users to add entertaining filters to video calls, will be shut down.
The app gained popularity during the pandemic when users started modifying their Zoom or Skype calls with the app's filters. Snap's decision to stop supporting the app is unknown at this time.

Snap said that there are several different lenses available on Snapchat for Web in an effort to reduce flickering. However, we know that it is not quite the same.
In 2018, the Snap Camera made its debut. It was designed when it first came out to help Twitch streamers keep their streams interesting.
The app, which is available on both Windows and Mac, can be used with several other apps such as Skype, Zoom and YouTube.
During a video call or live stream, this enables users to switch between multiple filters (or lenses in Snap lingo).
Snap is trying to cut costs. The company announced layoffs of 20% of its workforce along with the shutdown of its location-based social app Zenly. It also discontinued its drone product.
