Mogadishu: 25 people lost their lives in a car bomb near a check post in Mogadishu, Somalia's capital Mogadishu, while many others are said to be injured. According to the news agency Xinhua, government spokesman Ismail Mukhtar Omar said that a suicide bomber blew up his vehicle near a police check post on Afgoi Road.

He said, "I confirm that 25 people including many students have died and many others have been injured in the attack". A police officer who was present at the site of the incident has told that the explosion was carried out keeping in mind the tax office located on the road. He said that the officers were searching for vehicles passing through the road when a car exploded and many people were killed. Currently, no terrorist organization has claimed responsibility for this attack.
