A great Indian Personality for whom all adjectives are less, Internet search engine giant Google on Tuesday dedicated its doodle to Raja Ram Mohan Roy for observing his 246th birth anniversary.

Raja Ram Mohan Roy was born and brought into a Bengali Brahmin family in West Bengal on May 22, 1772 to Ramakanto Roy and Tarini Devi.

Roy was. The Brahma Samaj played a major role in reforming and modernizing the Indian society.

Known as 'Father of Modern India', and a founder of the Brahma Sabha in 1828, for an influential social-religious reform movement Roy fought to eradicate the practice of Sati. He was also known as the "Father of the Indian Renaissance" as he established a number of schools to bring and popularize a modern education system in India.

Women are still struggling even in this ultramodern business world trying to be equal to men. But almost 200 years ago, when evil practices like "Sati" overwhelmed the social order, the "Maker of Modern India Raja Ram Mohan Roy played a decisive role to bring about a change.

 The regressive practice "Sati” that forced a widow to immolate herself on husband's pyre, Roy campaigned for equal rights for women, and put his every efforts to get rid of this social evil as including the right to remarry and the right to hold property for women who lost their husband.

It is noted that The Google doodle celebrating Raja Ram Mohan Roy 246th birth anniversary, has been designed and created by Beena Mistry, a UX Designer, who is an Illustrator based out of Toronto, Canada.
