USA: Some Indian users reportedly can't access WhatsApp. The app has been having problems since last night, according to Downdetector, and they are still present today.

Affected users reported the issue on Twitter, saying they were unable to download videos they had received through the app.
The problem, though, seems to be more common among Android beta users.

Whether it's for relaying urgent messages, participating in group conversations, sharing files, making calls, sending/receiving money, shopping, or just keeping in touch with friends and family, we have grown more and more reliant on WhatsApp.

Given the app's widespread use and importance to our daily lives, users will undoubtedly be impacted by any outage.

According to Downdetector, 43% of users reported problems using the app, 41% experienced server connectivity issues, and 16% had trouble sending messages.

As of yet, WhatsApp hasn't commented on the problem. According to reports, the app is testing a new video message feature, which may be the cause of the issue with the beta version.

Video files shared on WhatsApp are different from video messages. Users would be able to send video messages that last for 60 seconds with the new feature. According to WABetaInfo, these messages would be circular in shape to set them apart from regular video messages and they cannot be saved or forwarded. The new option is still being developed and is not yet available.

Users in major cities were impacted by the outage over the course of the previous day, as shown by the Downdetector heat map. Chandigarh, Delhi, Lucknow, Patna, Jaipur, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Surat, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai are among the cities on the list.

According to WABetaInfo, a new update is currently being distributed to beta users and should fix the problem with the app's ability to download videos.

You can try using WhatsApp Web or the desktop app if the issue still exists. A similar video bug was reportedly experienced by users of the WhatsApp Business app's beta version, which is still not fixed.
