Popular actress Tunisha Sharma allegedly died by suicide on Saturday. The actress hanged herself on the set of a serial in Vasai in Maharashtra's Palghar district. The 20-year-old went to the washroom on the set and did not return for a long time. When the door was broken down, she was found hanging inside. Sheezan Mohammed Khan, Co-star of actor Tunisha Sharma was arrested after a case of abutment to suicide was registered against him.

Now All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA)’s president Suresh Shyamlal Gupta said, "We demand the government form an SIT in Tunisha Sharma's suicide case and the investigation be done properly. Today, I went to the set where Tunisha Sharma committed suicide. I found people were scared. Something wrong must have happened.Women are not safe on the set. The set is at a very interior location where people are afraid to commute. The government should pay attention to this matter and have the death probed by an SIT. Many things will come out after the probe."

Earlier, in a tweet, the AICWA said, "Actor Tunisha Sharma committed suicide on the set of serial 'Alibaba Chalis Chor', as reported by people there. This incident took place in a studio in Naigaon. We will demand SIT probe into it. The cases of suicide by actors are increasing day by day in the film industry. It is a very serious matter. God bless her soul and give courage to her family."

On the career front the actress featured in serials like ‘Bharat Ka Veer Putra Maharana Pratap’ and later featured in shows such as ‘Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat’, ‘Gabbar Poonchwala’, ‘Sher-e-Punjab: Maharaja Ranjit Singh’, ‘Internet Wala Love’ and ‘Ishq Subhan Allah’. She has also featured  ‘Fitoor’, ‘Baar Baar Dekho’, ‘Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh’, and ‘Dabangg 3’. She film and featured in ‘Pyaar Ho Jaayega’, ‘Nainon Ka Ye Rona’ and ‘Tu Baithe Mere Samne’.
