Hyderabad: Assembly elections are going to be held in Telangana in the next 2-3 months, for which all the parties are laying down their lives. In this sequence, there has been an uproar over a poster of Congress which is busy in election preparations. Actually, in this poster, former National President of Congress Sonia Gandhi has been depicted as 'Mother India'. BJP has expressed strong objection to this of Congress. BJP leaders say that for Congress, familyism (Gandhi family) has always been before nationalism.
According to reports, Congress had called a meeting in Hyderabad on September 17 in view of the assembly elections. Many top party leaders including party president Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra attended this meeting. Since the leader was coming to Hyderabad, Congress workers had put up her posters all over the city. In these posters, Sonia Gandhi has been shown as 'Mother India'. In the pictures of the poster, Sonia Gandhi is seen wearing a crown and dressed like the national flag tricolor. At the same time, the map of Telangana can be seen in Sonia Gandhi's right hand. After this poster surfaced, BJP has once again cornered Congress on insulting Mother India. BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that, 'Congress has made a habit of insulting India. Earlier, Congress leaders like Aradhana Mishra had said that 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' is against party discipline.

Shahzad Poonawala has further said, 'Earlier BD Kalla had said that say 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' and not 'Sonia Mata ki Jai'. What is the case of Aradhana Mishra and BD Kalla:-
Let us tell you that the story of BD Kalla is from 2018, when she was campaigning in Rajasthan Assembly elections. At that time some workers present there were raising slogans of 'Bharat Mata ki Jai'. After this, BD Kalla says something in the ear of a senior worker and after this the workers start raising slogans of Sonia Gandhi ki Jai and Rahul Gandhi ki Jai. A video of this also went viral, in which BD Kalla was seen stopping the slogans of Bharat Mata ki Jai and making them cheer for Sonia-Rahul.
