Supaul: The incident of murder of a newly married woman has come to light in Supaul, Bihar. The family members of the deceased have accused the in-laws of dowry death. As soon as the news of the incident was received, the police reached the spot, took the dead body into custody and started investigating the matter by sending it for postmortem. A case has been registered on the complaint of the victim's relatives. The incident took place in ward number 7 of Thumha Bazar in the district.
It is being said that dowry greedy people killed the woman by strangling her. The police have registered a complaint of dowry death on the complaint of the victim's family. The age of the deceased Shanti Devi was only 19 years. Surendra Sharma, the brother of the deceased, said that he had married his sister with great fanfare as per Hindu rituals. The deceased's brother Surendra Sharma said that his father had kept one lakh 11 thousand as gifts in the hands of the boy. But, husband Deepak Sharma started demanding the bike only after a month of marriage. When he refused to give the bike, he started torturing Shanti.
On Tuesday, Shanti was mercilessly beaten and strangled to death. Then the dead body was hanged. The husband of the deceased called the in-laws house and informed that his sister had committed suicide by hanging herself. Regarding this incident, Pipra Police Station President Vinod Kumar Singh said that a dowry death incident has come to the fore. An FIR has been registered in this connection. Further action will be taken according to the investigation.
