Today is the 54th birthday of Sonu Walia, one of the beautiful actresses of the 80s and 90s in Hindi cinema. Born on February 19, 1964, to a Punjabi family in Delhi, Sonu has now moved away from Bollywood. Sonu was fond of living a glamorous life from the very beginning. She stepped into the world of modelling after completing her studies and then she came to Mumbai and started modelling. Sonu had achieved success very quickly in her modelling career. Then she tried her luck in the Miss India competition and here too the stars of her luck shone. Sonu also won the Miss India crown in 1985.
Sonu wanted to try her luck in films after winning the Miss India crown and then she got a role in the film 'Khoon Bhari Maang' in the year 1988 and with this film Sonu made her Bollywood debut. In this film, although Rekha was in the lead role and Sonu was in a supporting role, but Sonu got good recognition by this film and she got the Award for Best Supporting Actress Filmfare for this film.
After this, Sonu appeared in 'Akarshan' in the year 1988. Sonu gave bold scenes in this film. It was not an easy thing to give such bold scenes at that time, but Sonu gave many bold scenes on the banks of the waterfall without being shy, after which she became famous. Sonu has worked in many films like 'Dil Aashna Hai', 'Khel', 'Swarg Jaisa Ghar', 'Aarkshan', 'Apna Desh Paraye Log', 'Toofan' and 'Tehelka', but there is something special in these films. If success could not be achieved, then she started working in B grade films also. But here too Sonu did not get any success, after which she made a distance from the film industry.
Sonu was married to NRI Surya Prakash but after his death, Sonu got married to NRI film producer Pratap Singh for the second time. Now Sonu lives in the US with her husband and a daughter.
