Kolkata: Cricket Association of India (BCCI) future president Saurabh Ganguly's relationship with the team's head coach Ravi Shastri may not go well, Ganguly has said that the coach is not required to reappoint. The ad-hoc Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), which appointed Shastri as a coach, was dragged into a conflict of interest by board ombudsman DK Jain and there was a possibility that Shastri would be declared if the formation of the CAC was invalid. The chair can be snatched away.

Ganguly has said, "I don't think this will cause any problem in Shastri's selection. I am not sure though. As far as we have chosen the coach even when there was a conflict of interest." At the same time, when Ganguly was asked whether he had spoken to Shastri after the Chairman of the Board was determined, Ganguly laughed, "Why? What did he do now?"

If the Ombudsman found the CAC guilty of conflict of interest, the Committee of Administrators (COA) chairman Vinod Rai declined to comment on whether Shastri needed to be reappointed. Rai told the media that, "Firstly, it is a hypothetical question. Secondly, I am wrong to say anything before the decision of Lokpal".
