Many members of the film industry have reported getting infected with the deadly Coronavirus as the number of cases of COVID-19 rises across the country. Suhail Chandhok, a television presenter and commentator, is the most recent addition to the squad, having tested positive for the virus's Omicron variant.

Sharing pictures of his swab test, the actor posted on Twitter, "Be careful what you wish for. My New Year wish a few days ago: Here's to plenty of positivity, constant learning etc... #Omicron: Here's some positivity to start 2022. Some annoying symptoms but ok so far & hopefully back in the Commentary box soon. #StaySafe #Covid_19". Recently, filmmaker Arun Vaidhyanathan also tested positive for the Omicron variant. However, he has now recovered from the virus.

Suhail Chandhok previously appeared alongside Ajith in Siva's 2014 film Veeram. In the film, he portrayed one of Ajith's four siblings. Tamannaah Bhatia plays the female lead in the film. In Telugu, the film was recreated as Katamarayudu, while in Kannada, it was remade as Odeya. In the meanwhile, this has been Suhail Chandhok's lone cinematic endeavour.

Shilpa Shirodkar, Namrata Shirodkar's sister, had tested positive for the virus in Dubai. Vadivelu, an actor and comedian, has tested positive for COVID-19. He needed to be taken to the hospital. He has now healed and was just released from the hospital.
