Chennai:  Actress Vanisree's son has tragically passed away. 71-year-old Vanisri lost her son Abinay Venkatesh Karthik in Chennai today. According to media reports, Dr. Abinay Venkatesh died in his sleep due to cardiac arrest. He studied medicine at Annapurna Medical College and Hospitals in Chennai. He also worked as a consultant physician. He was also a sports doctor.

He was a cricketer and worked in a combination of sports and fitness to serve injured athletes. His sudden and untimely death has caused a great shock to Vanisree and his family. Let me tell you that in the late 1970s, Vanisree gave up her film career, focusing money on her personal life.

She married during the peak of her career and left filming after that. She gave birth to two children - a son and a daughter - Anupama and Abinay Venkatesh Karthik. However, in the late 1980s Vanisree made a comeback to films by acting in character roles and mother roles. Her character as Atha was well received in Chiranjeevi's Athkhu Yamudu Ammayiki Mogudu (1989).
