Indian Army’s First Para Commando Lt Col A G Rangaraj To Be Honoured As Korean War Hero By South Korea

Seoul: South Korea has appointed Lieutenant Colonel (late) A.G. of the Indian Army to play an important role in the Korean War between 1950-53. It has been announced to honor Rangraj with his country's biggest war honor 'War Hero'. In 2020, this honor has been announced by South Korea on the same occasion that this war is going to be 70 years.

This honor is announced in commemoration of the war every year by the War-Veteran Ministry of South Korea. Lieutenant Colonel A. G. The 60th Parachute Field Ambulance under the leadership of Rangaraj operated the Mobile Army Surgical Hospital (MASH) in the war between North and South Korea. This facility was started by the Indian side for three years, for which later A. G. Rangaraja was also awarded the Maha Virchakra.

In July 2020 at the Korean War Memorial in Seoul, Lieutenant Colonel A.G. A large photo of Rangraj will be installed. A separate section named India has been formed in the War Memorial. Along with this, a large cutout will be imposed in many public places of Korea in honor of his bravery.
