SEOUL: An official said on Saturday that South Korean First Lady Kim Keon-hee will greet visiting US President Joe Biden shortly before attending a state banquet given by President Yoon Suk-yeol.
"Before the dinner, (Kim) will visit the site and briefly exchange greetings with President Biden," the spokesman told reporters.
According to media reports, she would not attend the banquet at the National Museum of Korea because there was nothing officially organised in the first place. When reportedly asked where the two will meet, he stated it is difficult to say exactly where.
Biden is visiting South Korea for the first time as President, and he will meet with Yoon later Saturday.
He is not joined by US First Lady Jill Biden, which is said to be one of the reasons Kim did not accompany Yoon to official engagements during Biden's visit.
