South Korean Embassy officials have begun leaving from their temporary mission in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv, a Foreign Ministry official in Seoul said. Russia has stepped UP bombings in the region.

They were evacuated to Hungary together with three South Korean nationals after Russian forces launched missile attacks and shelled the city's environs on Friday, as per report citing sources.  "The members of the temporary mission in Lviv departed this morning with a group of South Korean nationals and are moving to a place requested by their compatriots," a Ministry official said.

The Embassy was transferred from Kiev to three other locations, including Lviv, in order to assist remaining Korean nationals in the war-torn Ukraine.  The other two are in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, and Bucharest, Romania.

Five Korean nationals were in the city, and three of them joined the vehicle evacuation, the official said, adding that the Foreign Ministry would monitor the remaining two, who apparently chose to stay. The spokesman noted that no damage was reported among South Koreans as a result of the Lviv attacks.
