Noted Kannada actor Puneet Rajkumar has died of a heart attack and was recently admitted to Vikram Hospital in the city due to ill health. His demise has left the South Indian film industry in mourning, everyone is shocked by his departure. A crowd of his supporters has gathered outside the hospital after receiving the news of the incident. Puneet Rajkumar is the youngest son of Kannada actor Dr Rajkumar and younger brother of Shivraj Kumar, a prominent KFI star.

He has appeared in 12 films as a child artiste. He won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for the 1986 film Bettada Hoovu. After appearing in films as a child artiste in the 1980s, Puneet Rajkumar started his film journey with a leading character in the film Appu. It was a huge hit.

Puneet Rajkumar is known for his performances in movies like Akash (2005), Arasu (2007), Milana (2007) and Vanshi (2008) which have been his biggest commercial success films so far. He won a Filmfare Award for his performance in Arasu in 2007 and won the Best Actor award in the state of Karnataka for his performance in Milana in 2008.
