CHENNAI: In view of the increase in cases of Kona Rona epidemic, Southern Railway has canceled many special trains. On the request of the Tamil Nadu government, the railways have canceled special trains running under the state from 29 June to 15 July. Actually, the number of corona patients in Tamil Nadu is increasing rapidly, due to which the state government has decided to cancel trains.
In view of the ever increasing cases of Corona, the Railways has canceled all the regular trains. The Railway Board said on Thursday that suburban trains, along with all regular mail, express and passenger train services, will remain closed till August 12. It was said from the railway that all the special trains will continue to run. Under this, 12 pairs of trains running on the route of Chennai from May 12 and 100 pairs of trains running from June 1 will continue.
On Saturday, 3,713 new cases of corona virus have been reported in Tamil Nadu. The number of infected people in the state has now reached 78,335. While 1,025 people have died so far with the death of 68 more patients. Let us tell you that for the third consecutive day in Tamil Nadu, more than 3500 new cases of corona virus were reported. According to the Health Department, 2,737 patients of corona virus were discharged from various hospitals on Saturday. At the same time, a total of 44,094 Kovid-19 patients have also been cured of infection in the state.
