Following the release of the investigation into the Nagaon Kirtti Kamal Bora shooting case, controversial MLA Sherman Ali Ahmed asked that the government suspend and arrest Nagaon Superintendent of Police Anand Mishra.

"When I was in jail for two months, I met many convicts who were shot by the police in fake confrontations," Sherman Ali told the journalists. "They told me they were escorted to areas where they were forced to flee and if they didn't, the police would shoot them from a short distance," he continued. "It appears that 99 percent of the interactions are fake." He went on to say that in a democracy, the police cannot determine everything, and that a person cannot be deemed guilty just by killing them.

He stated that it was up to the courts to decide who was guilty. "Shooting someone who is still under investigation is not an option," he stressed. The politician went on to say that the Additional Chief Secretary's report confirms the fake encounter in which Kirtti was shot by police and how the SP sought to put him in a fake case.

"The administration should immediately suspend and arrest Anand Mishra," he added. Sherman went on to say that if the investigation had not been conducted, Anand Mishra's truth regarding the fake encounters may have remained secret.
