Former MP Azam Khan's condition critical, shifted again in ICU

Lucknow: Veteran Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and Rampur MP Azam Khan is still in critical condition. He and his son Abdullah Azam are undergoing treatment at Medanta Hospital in Lucknow. Azam Khan was reportedly recovering but his health deteriorated again in the past. They had to shift to ICU. Since then, his condition has remained critical. However, doctors said it is under control.

Azam's son Abdullah Azam is now said to be stable. His corona report has come out negative. According to information received, SP MP Azam Khan has been placed on three to five litres of oxygen support in ICU. Fibrosis and cavity were found in his lungs. Meanwhile Azam Khan was shifted from ICU to general ward but his condition deteriorated back. They had to shift back to ICU. Since then, his condition is said to be critical.

Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam have been lodged in Sitapur jail for the past 15 months. The duo was sent to jail by the Rampur ADJ court in February 2020 on several other charges including illegal land grabbing and fake son certificates in Rampur. Both of them were infected with corona infection while in jail. He was then admitted to the hospital. Azam Khan's son Abdullah Azam is said to have received a negative corona report. His health has improved a lot. However, they are yet to be discharged from the hospital.
