Amidst the Corona crisis, Samajwadi Party National President and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that the Farmer is in a bad state due to the anti-farmer policy of the BJP government. The BJP has never been friendly to farmers from the beginning. Farmers' suicides have not stopped even in the lockdown caused by the corona outbreak.
On Saturday, SP President Akhilesh Yadav issued a statement saying that the farmers were not able to recover from the rains and hailstorm that again the rain and hail has broken the back of the farmers. Due to this, wheat crop has been destroyed in many districts. The blossoms of mango trees also fell. About a dozen farmers have died due to lightning strikes. Akhilesh Yadav demanded the UP government to provide financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh to his dependents.
In his statement, SP President Akhilesh Yadav said that most of the farmers also do animal husbandry. Due to the lockdown, the demand of milk in the entire state has come down by 50 percent. Milk traders, livestock owners and farmers are suffering a lot due to this. Relief package should be announced for them also. Farmers are not getting any benefit from all announcements like crop insurance, honor money etc.
