Madrid: A hotel in Tenerife on Spain's Canary Islands has been closed for traffic after an Italian doctor confirmed the coronavirus. Citing Spanish media on Tuesday, it is reported that hundreds of people of H-10 Costa ADJ Palace Hotel have been asked to stay in their rooms. Medical tests of these people will be done, only after which steps will be taken.

The doctor hails from the Lombardy region, where Italian officials are battling the havoc of Corona. A leading Spanish newspaper has quoted police sources as saying that health officials have ordered monitoring of guests at the island's four-star hotel. On Tuesday, a person staying in the hotel shared a picture of a note placed under the door of his room on Facebook, in which instructions were given. It was written, "We regretfully inform you that the hotel has been closed due to health reasons. You will have to stay in your room until the health authorities give permission."

John Turton, another guest staying at the hotel, has told the media that he and his wife have seen this warning note. The virus has caught many countries in the world. The maximum number of cases have been seen in China, where more than 80,000 people have been infected so far.
