Mumbai: The case related to the Malegaon bomb blast case will start hearing on 3 December 2020. Direct trial has started in lower courts. In view of this, the court has asked all the accused, including the accused in this case and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur and Colonel Prasad Purohit, to appear in the court on Thursday.

The case will be heard daily and the statements of witnesses will be recorded. So far, 140 witnesses have been testified in 495 related to this case. Earlier, one of the victims of the blast had filed an application in the court and requested to start the hearing of the case as soon as possible. The application claimed that the prosecution was not showing any active involvement in summoning witnesses related to the case. However, the prosecution has claimed that it has never requested to defer hearing of the case. It has been requested to postpone the hearing on behalf of the counsel for the accused.

According to the prosecution, the hearing has been delayed due to the previous judge retiring and the Corona epidemic. In 2008, 6 people were killed and 100 were injured in the bomb blast in Malegaon.
