Low cost Airline major SpiceJet said on Friday that historic  Khajuraho has been added to its network as the 15th UDAN destination. SpiceJet's direct flight from Delhi to Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh was inaugurated by Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia. "By 2025, we want to build 100 new airports, of which 65 have already been built. In 2012, there were 6 crore travellers; today, there are 14 crores "he stated

On Fridays and Sundays, the airline will fly between Delhi and Khajuraho twice a week. On the Delhi-Khajuraho-Delhi route, the UDAN fare will start at Rs 3,209 plus taxes.

SpiceJet's Chairman and Managing Director, Ajay Singh, stated, "We are excited to announce the addition of Khajuraho to our network, with 24 additional flights commencing February 18. For its rich history of art and culture, Khajuraho, a UNESCO world heritage site that will be our 15th UDAN destination, attracts visitors from all over the world. SpiceJet will be the sole non-stop airline connecting Khajuraho and Delhi, and we are happy to give this ancient city and state a much-needed boost in travel and tourism."

Khajuraho, noted for its majestic temples, attracts visitors not only from India but from all over the world. The rich sculptures and architectural symbolism of the ancient city's temples are well-known.
