Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate from Deoria-Kushinagar MLC seat in Uttar Pradesh, Dr. Kafil Khan, while accepting his defeat, said that today's election results have proved that democracy has once again suffered a crushing defeat in the state. Kafeel Khan said that in this election, greed for money, pressure from police administration and intimidation of Pradhan and BDC members has resulted in the defeat of democracy once again. Congratulating BJP's winning candidate Dr. Ratan Pal Singh on the victory, Kafeel Khan said that now he is the MLC of the people and people's representatives of 14 Vidhan Sabhas. It is expected that the newly elected MLC Dr. Singh will leave no stone unturned in developing the area.
Dr Kafil alleged that during the election, he was tried to harass by the police. He said that the police tried to harass him by going to his Gorakhpur residence to harass and take him under pressure. Kafeel Khan said that even after losing the election, he will continue to serve the people. He claimed that he would soon take advantage of health services by organizing free medical camps for the service of the public in thirty development block areas of the region.
