LUCKNOW: The BJP has registered a landslide victory in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council elections (MLC elections). The BJP has won 33 of the 36 seats. After registering a landslide victory in the Legislative Council after the assembly elections, CM Yogi Adityanath has said that the people are with nationalism and good governance. He congratulated all the candidates who won the election. With this victory, for the first time in the UP Legislative Council, the BJP has got a majority. 

CM Yogi Adityanath tweeted, "Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to all the newly elected members of the Upper House of Uttar Pradesh!" In another tweet, he wrote, "Today, the BJP's landslide victory in the legislative council elections, the local authority of Uttar Pradesh, has once again made it clear that under the able guidance and leadership of the Hon'ble Prime Minister, the people of the state have instituted nationalism, and are with development and good governance.''

Out of the 36 Legislative Council (MLC) seats of the local body area in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP has won 33 seats, while the Account of the Samajwadi Party (SP) could not be opened. Out of the 36 MLC seats in the state, BJP candidates had already won 9 seats unopposed and out of the remaining 27 seats where polling was held, 24 seats have been won by the BJP. The BJP has lost three seats. Thus, the BJP has made history by winning 33 seats.
