Lucknow: The operator running the Twitter handle of the Samajwadi Party (SP) in Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow has been arrested. Manish Jagan Agarwal has been arrested by the Hazratganj police station. Actually, three cases were registered in Hazratganj Kotwali regarding the indecent remarks made from SP's Twitter handle. It has been told that Manish Jagan Agarwal used to run the Twitter account of SP and he is a resident of Sitapur.

On the other hand, on January 6, Dr. Richa Rajput, social media in-charge of BJP Yuva Morcha (BJYM) in Lucknow, lodged a case against a Twitter handle named SP Media Cell for threatening her with rape and murder. Along with this, Richa Rajput had said that SP chief Akhilesh Yadav would be held responsible if anything happened to her. Now after Manish's arrest, SP's national president and former CM Akhilesh Yadav has reached the police headquarters in Lucknow.  

In her complaint, Richa Rajput, social media in-charge of BJP Yuva Morcha (BJYM), said, 'The official Twitter handle of SP is threatening to kill and rape, if anything happens to me, it will be the responsibility of Akhilesh Yadav.' On Richa's complaint, the Lucknow police had registered a case at the Hazratganj police station and have now arrested Manish.
