New Delhi: One of the best-selling models of British automaker MG Motor in the Indian market, the facelifted Hector Plus SUV is in the works.

Recently, a highly camouflaged test mule of the vehicle was discovered during testing, leading to its 2019 release. As per the pictures, some of the highlights will include a bigger grille, split-style headlights, roof rails and body-coloured ORVMs.

Compared to its predecessor, the 2023 MG Hector Plus is expected to get better looks and more features. However, it can retain its mechanical integrity.

Once it goes on sale, the competition in the SUV market will increase. It will compete with Hyundai CRETA, Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier and Mahindra XUV700.

The front fascia of the MG Hector Plus (facelift) has been updated and now includes a muscular bonnet, substantial body cladding, a larger grille and LED headlights with DRLs.

There will be roof rails, blacked-out B-pillars, chrome door handles, body-coloured ORVMs with integrated turn signals and designer alloy wheels on either end. A rear window wiper and wraparound LED taillights could be present.

Two BS6-compliant engine options may still be available for the Hector Plus (facelift): 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with 141 HP and 250 Nm and 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine with 168 HP and 350 Nm . A 6-speed manual, DCT and CVT gearbox should be in charge of the transmission.

The interior of the Hector Plus (facelift) is expected to be spacious and is expected to feature new upholstery, chrome and piano black, mood lighting, rear AC vents and a multifunctional steering wheel.

It should feature a 14.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. For the safety of passengers, there will be multiple airbags, ADAS, ABS, EBD, crash sensors and a rear-view camera.

The pricing and availability details of the MG Hector Plus (facelift) will be made public when it goes on sale, which is expected early next year. However, it should be priced higher than the current model, which starts at Rs. 14.94 Lakhs.
