After being found guilty of spot-fixing in the IPL, the cricket-banned fast bowler, S Sreesanth, was thinking of taking suicide-like steps in depression but the strong will and family stopped him from doing so. Sreesanth has said that when the BCCI banned him in the so-called IPL spot-fixing case in August 2013, his thoughts of suicide were constantly coming to his mind. In 2015, however, he was acquitted by the Delhi High Court special court. At the same time, he told that he was going through a difficult phase in his life and he was having thoughts of even committing suicide.

Sreesanth said, 'This is such a thing with which I was constantly fighting in 2013. This thinking used to be with me, but my family took care of me. I had to stay with the family. I know they need me. For information, let us tell you that Sreesanth said that he was a very good friend of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Sushant committed suicide on 14 June. He was struggling with depression.

Where he said, 'That is why Sushant's death affected me so much, and he was also my good friend. I was also on the verge of this but I returned because I knew how much it would hurt those who love me.
