Srikakulam: Keeping in view the Corona protocol, the government school reopened from 16 August. Despite all the precautionary claims, corona positive cases are coming up in the government schools of the district. So far 17 positive cases have been reported in various schools in Meliyaputty, Burja, Gaara's Peddamdi, Narayanapuram, Lingalvalasa, Lukalam, Gurvam, Bavajipeta and Laxminagar, creating panic.

Experts had also issued warnings about the danger of a third wave in the months of September and October. In the absence of proper monitoring of COVID preventive measures like frequent use of sanitizers, wearing of face masks and maintaining physical distance, the infection is spreading slowly in schools.

Most of the schools violate COVID preventive measures mainly due to lack of proper guidance and care. Covid preventive measures are violated even during lunch. In view of the positive cases, students, parents, teachers and non-teaching staff are concerned about their safety.
