New Delhi: The ODI series between India and Sri Lanka is set to begin on July 13. Even after the absence of many big players, curiosity for the series remains intact as Shikhar Dhawan-captained Team India has most of the new faces and has a chance to prove themselves.
But this is an even bigger chance for Sri Lankan cricket because it is going to bring a hefty sum into their account. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) President Shammi Silva himself has said that the series against India is going to earn him around Rs 90 crore. India has 3 ODIs and as many T20s to play on this tour with Sri Lanka. The series between India and Sri Lanka was scheduled to be played last year but was then postponed due to the global coronavirus epidemic.
The two teams are now going to clash to complete the series, set under the Future Tour program, which does not feature many big players including Indian captain Virat Kohli, vice-captain Rohit Sharma. Even then, the series is becoming a good source of income for Sri Lanka cricket.
