Now, children above 12 years of age to get corona vaccine in SL, PM Rajapaksa announced

Colombo: The coronavirus, a global epidemic around the world, is slowly weakening. The whole world is trying to intensify the vaccination campaign. In the same vein, the Sri Lankan Government has taken a major step to curb corona.  In fact, Sri Lankan PM Mahinda Rajapaksa has said that the government has planned to vaccinate children above the age of 12 years in step against the coronavirus.

According to a report, in a statement on Monday, Rajapaksa said that children with various complications will be preferred in the vaccination program. At present, the Government is giving doses of China's Sinoform vaccine to all citizens above the age of 30 years. Sri Lanka has so far given the first dose of vaccine to more than 11 million of those over the age of 30 and 36,98,303 second doses.

On the other hand, the total cases of the corona epidemic have increased to 20.77 crores. So far 43.7 lakh people have lost their lives due to this epidemic. At the same time, a total of 4.7 billion people have been vaccinated so far. Johns Hopkins University has shared these figures. In its latest update on Tuesday morning, the university's Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) has reported that the current global cases, the death toll, and vaccinations stand at 20,77,98,567, 43,70,447, and 4,70,35,78,751 respectively.
