Jammu: 10th date of Muharram has been banned in Srinagar and Budgam city in Kashmir valley. Due to not being allowed to take out the Matami procession, there was a clash with the police in some other areas including the Jadibal of angry people. Due to this, tear gas shells were released to disperse the crowd. Pallet guns also had to be used. After the incident, IG Kashmir Vijay Kumar visited Jadibal and Alamgirbazar and inspected the situation.

In the morning, security forces were kept vigilant in the Shia dominated areas Bemina, Hawwal, Alamgiri Market, Jadibal. A large number of security forces were deployed in the area. Small streets are blocked by wires. Due to these restrictions imposed by the administration and police, sporadic clashes have been taking place in many areas for the past two days. The police have tried to calm the case.

On the other hand, 258 corona cases were reported in the state on Sunday. With this, BJP general secretary organization Ashok Kaul, including Vibodh Gupta have been found coronavirus positive. Both leaders were on Kashmir tour. In new cases, 354 cases have been reported from Jammu division and 432 from Kashmir division. Apart from this, nine patients have also died. Three of them are from Jammu division. At the district level, 258 new cases have been reported in Jammu district, six in Rajouri, 18 in Kathua, nine in Udhampur, seven in Samba, five in Doda, six in Poonch, 18 from Reasi and 27 from Kishtwar.
