Stalin calls on Murmu in Delhi, invites her to inaugurate hospital

New Delhi: Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu  M K Stalin met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan today, Aopril 28, to invite her to inaugurate a 1,000-bed multi-super speciality hospital constructed in Chennai.

According to a press release, Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister MK Stalin met President of India Droupadi Murmu today at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi and offered the invitation to open the Multi-Super Speciality Hospital at Guindy, Chennai.  In accordance with the press release, "President Murmu has given consent to inaugurate the hospital in Guindy, Chennai and to take part in the Centenary Celebration to be held at YMCA Ground, Nandanam on June 5, 2023.

The 7-story 1000-bedded hospital is built at a cost Rs 230 crore. The hospital is set to have amenities including cardiothoracic surgery, neuro surgery, surgical Gastroenterology, medical and surgical oncology, vascular surgery, urology and other departments.

The Tamil Nadu chief minister had earlier declared that "A Multi-Super Specialty Hospital Will Be Set Up At The Premises Of The King Institute Of Preventive Medicine And Research At Guindy" in honour of Muthamizh Arignar Kalaignar's 97th birthday on June 3, 2021.

A new 1000-bed hospital with a ground floor and six additional levels is being built at a cost of Rs. 230 crores in the King Institute of Preventive Medicine and Research Complex in Guindy, according to a press release. 

Earlier in February, President Droupadi Murmu went to Tamil Nadu for a two-day visit. She reached Madurai and headed for a darshan at Madurai Meenakashi Amman Temple. She then took part in a special Anandhana program.
