CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is expected to lead a state team to the four-day World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting beginning May 22 in Davos, Switzerland. According to government sources in Tamil Nadu, the group will likely include state Industries Minister Thangam Thenarasu as well as officials from the industries, finance, and health departments.
The theme of the 2022 World Economic Forum in Davos is 'Industrial Revolution 4.0,' but the focus of the Tamil Nadu delegation will be on wooing investments, with round table conversations with CEOs taking place on the fringes of the activities.
The Tamil Nadu government is focusing on attracting investment, emphasising the state's dynamic industrial culture and the numerous investments it has received since the DMK government took office, even during the trying times of the Covid -19 pandemic. The state's principal investment promotion and felicitation agency, Tamil Nadu guidance, has teamed with the World Economic Forum (WEF) to build India's first manufacturing hub (AMHUB).
Tamil Nadu is the only state from South Asia to have signed an MoU with the World Economic Forum. The AMHUB has around ten members, including the United States, Denmark, Spain, and Brazil.
The Tamil Nadu delegation will focus on attracting investment to the state by demonstrating its business-friendly environment and showcasing the state's renewable energy efforts.
