BJP Sadar MLA and former minister Virendra Singh Sirohi died early Monday. He was ill for a long time and was admitted to a private hospital in Delhi. His body was kept for his last visit at his residence in Preet Bihar. During this, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached Virendra Singh's house and paid tribute. Earlier on receiving the news of the demise, CM Yogi consoled his son over the phone. Sugarcane Minister Suresh Rana, MP Bhola Singh, all MLAs and officials also reached to pay tribute. CM Yogi said, "I pray to Lord Shree Rama to give him a place at his feet and provide strength to the bereaved family to bear this sorrow."

In the condolence message, the Chief Minister said that Virendra Singh Sirohi was a popular public representative and with that, he was always ready for the development of his area. He was always striving for the upliftment of the poor and weak persons of society. On his death, the public has lost its true benefactor and the party a devoted leader. Ghansurpur, the ancestral village of Virendra Singh Sirohi, which comes under the Siana Assembly constituency. He learned about politics in Lokdal Party from former Prime Minister Swa Chaudhary Charan Singh. After raising the flag of Lok Dal for almost 20 years, Sirohi changed parties and joined BJP. In 1996, he contested the Agata Vidhan Sabha for the first time and defeated Kiranpal Singh of the Socialist Party.
