Since the work on the Comprehensive Road Management Programme (CRMP) is in full span, the state government has approved an additional 60 to 70 km road network for agencies under the programme. This happens after the fault liability period as per current agreements for the 70 km road network.
Under CRMP, greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has handed over 709 km of road repairs, maintenance and recarpet to private agencies in seven packages. In 709 km, the 331 km road had to be carpeted back in the first year. Most of these workhas been completed, but most of the areas have been severely damaged due to the recent heavy rains. As part of the deal, agencies are now undergoing repair and repair work, a senior official of GHMC said.
In addition to the CRMP works, the Municipal Corporation is working on the 99.51 km BT road by November 30 and 272 km CC road works by December 31. The Municipal Corporation is spending about Rs 256 crore for this road and has identified 315 extensions in an area of 99.51 km in all the six zones. All zonal commissioners and officials were instructed to complete all repair work on or before November 30.
