Chandigarh: The corona epidemic has created a lot of panic across the country. After Delhi-Mumbai, Jharkhand, and Haryana, the lockdown has now been imposed in Punjab also. The state will have a mini lockdown till May 15. Due to this, only essential shops will remain open in the state. Unnecessary shops will remain completely closed in the state.

In view of the lockdown, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday appealed to CM Captain Amarinder Singh to make arrangements to meet the domestic needs of the people of the state. In a statement, AAP state unit president Bhagwant Mann said the party will extend all possible help to the Punjab government. "In view of the impact of the corona epidemic, the state government is preparing for a complete lockdown in the state, but the question is whether it has solved the problems faced by the people due to lockdown.”

He said the lockdown will shut down people's businesses and workers of factories and companies as well as construction workers will lose their jobs. This will make it difficult for the needy and the poor to support their families. Demanding financial assistance for the workers and the poor, Mann said that just as the Arvind Kejriwal government in Delhi has provided financial assistance of Rs 5,000 to poor laborers, taxis, and auto drivers, the Punjab government should also do so.
