On January 5, the case of violence at Jawaharlal Nehru University is being heated rather than stopped. While one student is performing again and again, JNU VC M. Jagdish Kumar reached the HRD Ministry on Friday morning. Here he met the Secretary of the Department of Education in the Ministry. After meeting with the secretary of HRD, the VC said that they can be informed to the Ministry about the current situation of JNU. He said that efforts are being made to provide a conducive environment to pursue educational activities.

Students march on foot to protest against JNU violence
 

Earlier on Thursday, students took out a march from Mandi House to the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) office, Shastri Bhavan in protest against the violence on Sunday at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). Other organizations including Congress student wing National Student Union of India (NSUI), leftist student organizations AISA, SFI, DSF, KYS were also present. Apart from students of JNU, DU and Jamia Millia Islamia, teachers were also present on this march. Apart from this, students from Manipur, Himachal Pradesh also arrived this March. Students of the institute reached Mandi House in 11 buses plying from JNU. The march started from Mandi House at 2 pm. There were about three thousand students including student union president Ishi Ghosh, vice-president Saket Moon, general secretary Satish Chandra Yadav. During this time a truck with speaker was also running in March. The police placed barricades at some distance from the same Shastri Bhavan. Students were stopped here. JNU Students Union said that the Vice Chancellor of the institute responsible for the current situation in JNU is Prof. M. Jagdish Kumar. MHRD sack Vice Chancellor (VC). Also, the increased fees of hostels should be withdrawn.

During the raid, when a student was caught by Additional DCP Ankit Singh of South-West district, a student has rescued him by cutting a tooth in his hand. In the incident, the New Delhi District Police detained 11 students who were released the night after being kept at the Mandir Marg police station.
